The Villages’ Kids Get Ready to Return to School

As summer nears its end, The Villages’ kids prepare to head back to school. As you stock up on school supplies for the kids in your life, The Villages is stocking up on supplies for the 1,400 children we serve throughout the State! Our list of needs is endless… school supplies, new backpacks, new school clothes, uniforms, required health immunizations, and much more! Imagine buying 1,400 packs of pencils, notebooks, backpacks, uniforms… it’s a huge task and something we need your help with!

At The Villages, we strongly believe a child’s education is one of the most important parts of his or her life, and we know that the foundation for a successful future is rooted in education. This is why The Villages’ staff works tirelessly to provide our kids with the best educational opportunities and tools to be successful. We are proud to announce that 78% of the foster children discharged in 2012 had positive educational outcomes!

Because we strongly believe in providing a positive education experience for all of the children we are privileged to serve, we want to ensure they have all of the tools they need to be successful in school. These tools range from school supplies such as pencils, erasers, backpacks, rulers, etc. to resources that help children improve in the classroom such as eye glasses or academic tutors. Just as you begin preparing for your own kids to head back to school by shopping for supplies at your local Staples, Wal-Mart, or Target; The Villages is also “shopping” for generous donors like you to help us provide school supplies for The Villages’ kids to use.

Won’t you help us sustain the same educational successes for The Villages’ children that each of us want for our own children? While you’re picking up school supplies for your kids, please pick up a few extras for a Villages’ child! You can make your donation at any time by droping your school supplies off at any of our offices. Thank you in advance for your support!
