IHCDA Tournament Benefits The Villages’ Kids

The Villages’ is humbled by the generosity of our donors and community partners.  We are constantly receiving phone calls of individuals and groups who want to host an event to benefit The Villages.  One such call came last year from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) who notified The Villages’ that we would be the beneficiary of their annual Golf Outing.   In September 2013, over 100 golfers gathered at Plum Creek Golf Club to golf and raise money for The Villages’ children, youth and families.

The IHCDA’s purpose is to create creates housing opportunity, generates and preserves assets, and revitalizes neighborhoods by investing financial and technical resources in the development efforts of qualified partners throughout Indiana.  This important work is done through valuable partnerships with developers, lenders, investors, and nonprofit organizations that use our financing to serve low- and moderate-income Hoosiers.  Each year, the IHCDA hosts an annual conference where their partners hear from and collaborate with renowned community development professionals.  In conjunction with their conference, the IHCDA kicks things off with a Golf Tournament where through golfer’s fees, sponsorships, and on-course games and activities money is raised to benefit a charity that aligns with their core values.

In December 2013, The Villages was excited to accept a check for $26,000, the proceeds from the IHCDA’s Golf Tournament!  “This was a great partnership between two agencies who are committed to making the our communities a better place for all Hoosiers”, said Sharon Pierce The Villages’ President and CEO.

On behalf of the children, youth and families served by The Villages … THANK YOU to the IHCDA and their partners for their generous contribution.  The money they raised from their Golf Outing will help us to enrich the lives of those we serve and provide life-changing programs to some of Indiana’s most vulnerable population.
