Family Connection Network – Angela

Angela has been an Family Connection Network participant since 2016. At the time she had already adopted her two granddaughters at 18 months and 3 years of age. The girls had spent a year in foster care due to their parents’ struggle with mental health.

She was anxious about parenting a second time around and was hoping to find support from other kin-caregivers who were caring for relative children. Angela says being a part of FCN helped her “Put things into perspective, reminded her that she wasn’t alone and could literally depend on not only her village, but The Villages for support.”

The girls are now 9 and 13 and the family continues participating in the program.
