 "CHAIRish the Children" 2008 Highlights The Wonder of Childhood
First launched in 2002, the popular "CHAIRish the Children" auction, presented by Hirons & Company, returns this year! Students from Herron School of Art and Design have used their imagination and creativity to transform childrens chairs into works of art.
Some have candy, wings, wheels and even no legs. Some of the chairs represent animals, flight, arts, sports, and landscapes. The students used their imaginations so, in turn, the children who sit in the chairs may do the same!
The styles and designs vary based on the ingenuity of the students. Like Indiana's precious young children, each is unique and special in their own way. New this year, The Villages added adult chairs to the auction, featuring the professional talents of Rae Marie Crisel and Ann Wantz King.

Funds raised during the fun-filled event will benefit The Villages and Prevent Child Abuse Indiana and will be used to support child abuse prevention programs and services.
Special Online Auction
These wonderfully creative chairs will be displayed at the Indianapolis Artsgarden November 3-7 and pictured on our website starting October 31st. The chairs will be available for pre-event bidding online starting at 8:00 a.m., November 3 through 8:00 p.m., November 6th. Bidding will re-open Friday, November 7th at the "CHAIRish the Children" special reception and auction.
Starting bids for each chair will be $30 in celebration and honor of The Villages' and Prevent Child Abuse Indiana's 30th Anniversaries of serving children and families.

Enjoy an Evening of Giving!
The Fashion Mall at Keystone and Greenwood Park Mall are hosting the annual "Simon Evening of Giving" on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. We invite you to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season during this special event and support The Villages at the same time! Tickets for the event are $10 per person. Seven dollars will be given directly to The Villages, and $3 will benefit the Simon Youth Foundation. Both malls will be reserved exclusively for the use of shoppers who have purchased the $10 "Simon Evening of Giving" tickets from participating charities and non-profit organizations. The event will feature exclusive store discounts, family entertainment, food sampling, and more!
